Default Single or Dual valve spring?

I'm planning on buying one of the cam packages now on sale by our sponsors. But my question is, should I get single (918) or duel (Rev) valve springs? Anyone with expierence please help me decide!!!
Thanks,

depends on lift of the cam - what are the specs of the cam you are wanting to purchase. The higher the lift, the more one would want to lean towards dual springs. Lots of debate as to where you would switch though, be conservative.

If you are going over, say, .550 lift then I would get duals if you have the money. If for nothing else, then for peice of mind on road trips. It would suck to break a spring out in the middle of nowhere.

I'm looking at either the 224/224 or the 227/224 with about .581 lift.

I would ONLY do dual springs with that cam.

I'm using a 224 XE-R and my TEA heads came with dual springs that can handle that sort of cam.

I would suggest with any 224 or bigger cam checking P to V clearance just to be safe. Way better safe than sorry with a this stuff.

Best Wishes and good luck

Well, now I'm thinking about one of the Thunder cams since they're on sale. Duration will be about the same but lift now down to the .560 range. Is it possible to install the duals with the heads still on the car? Or should I just use the 918's so I dont have to mess with spring seats and valve seals? Decisions, decisions, decisions......
