Do I need different length pushrods?
Hi all!!!
Currently I have a MMS 224 cam with A&A stage 1 heads. I've just acquired a set of used MMS Stage II heads and I am about to install them with my friends. But I am confused on which push rods to get. 7.350 or stock 7.400 ???
I was told by my mechanic who installed the A&A stage 1 heads that it is not necessary to get 7.350 rods. But my friend who is going to help my with the MMS install says I should be the 7.350 since the heads are milled .030".
But my stage I heads are also milled .030" and there has been no problems. So which rods should I get?
Also, these heads come with brand new single valve springs. Does anyone know what they are and if I should switch to duals?
Thanks

It all depends on the base circle of your cam. Usually bigger cams have a smaller base circle requiring .030 longer pushrods, but since your heads have been milled .030, then you will want to remain with your stock length pushrods. It will depend on your cam....
All of the LS1 Comp Cam grinds I have measured, 4 now, had a 0.030" smaller base circle compared to stock. So if this is your case, which is pretty likely, you having your heads milled puts it all back to the stock length.
