Default what springs would meet this .......

Hi all!

MY mechanic and I are still discussing springs.

Can anyone tell me what brand springs would fit his numbers????

Here´s what he wants:
----------
Michael,
As you know I am a big proponent of maintaining as much of the original LS1 engineering in the build as possible.
With that in mind, here is my position on valve springs. We need enough seat pressure to actuate the valves, but not so
much that it stresses other components. With the cam we have spec'd, 130# on the seat is more than enough. We need a
spring that will handle the lift with no chance of spring bind. I have no problem with a double spring so long as it
meets the above objectives and does not require a larger spring diameter... I am sure there are several springs that
satisfy this, but I am still researching the possibilities. Your input would also be welcome on this.
Here's what I want: Not more than 130# on the seat and not more than about 380# open. Lift capability up to .625
lift and stock spring diameter. Single or double would be okay, though my own preference is for a single behive
spring... I do not know of any single behive springs that meet this criteria.
--------------

BTW, cam is 236/240 , 601/609 114 LSA
on an 422 iron block.

Car will see long time highway runs at 150+ mph
and lot of NA and 300shot Nitrous 1/4 miles.

Need your help guys,

thanks,

Michael

Stock spring pockets are too small to get a big enough single spring in place that can do the job reliabily for the type of cam your talking about. I would consider machining the heads for a dual spring set up. The dual Comp 987's(130 to 330 pressure) are close but not quite what your looking for. The REV-1116 is a dual spring that fit's the stock pockets but it's going to wear out faster than a bigger dual spring will. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I would stay away from Rev dual springs because i keep hearing about failures with them.Do a search and see if thats the case.
