Question Spark plug placement

Hi Guys,

I just picked up some Iridium(#41-985) plugs yesterday. To go in my newly purchased(Oct. 06) 4.8L/Auto 04 Silverado(w/ 43K on the clock).

But, being the present(past) owner of a couple of the LS1(5.7L) f-bodies('98
TransAm LS1/M6 & now The Z28). I remember we shortened up the gap on the plugs to like .047 to help greatly reduce if, not eliminate the
bogin/hesitation on hard accelerations. Which is what I run the gap @ in my
02 Z28 (w/ the ACDelco's Iridium plugs) now.

Then, after doing a quick search here I see where someone mentioned the Iridium plugs come from the factory gapped @ .040.

So, what kind of gap are you guys running the Iridium Plugs??? To eliminate(or greatly reduce) the bog/hesitation on hard accelerations.

Thanks in advance,
Don

I think you're gonna get a large amount of those in favor of returning the iridium's and purchasing some NGK TR55's instead. The iridium's seem to be a waste in these cars. NGK's are the best bet. An NGK TR55 gapped at ~.050-.055 should do the trick.
