opinions on 228 224 588 581 on a 111.
Gonna add this too:
Tpis long tubs
vortex ram air
LS1 edit
2000 frc vette with stock 3:42's
How drivable on a daily driver? What will the idle be like through the factory mufflers? Will this make power in the mid to high range?
Thanks guys

Yep, I like it, too! One of the benefits of the reverse split-pattern cams is being able to make great top-end power without sacrificing too much low-end grunt. FYI, my 228/228 111 LSA cam makes peak HP at 6,400 RPM. The 228/224 will make excellent mid-range and top-end power. The stock C5 exhaust will choke it down quite a bit, and the big streetability issues will be taken care of with the LS1 Edit tuning. You'd be surprised at how well cams will idle with good PCM tuning.
I think you'll be very pleased with the results.

As I have said elsewhere, the LS1 likes higher LSAs, in the 112/116 range, in most street applications. Just look at Lingenfelter's standard cam numbers; their 420 hp motor uses a 116.5 lsa! THey clearly like to retain cylinder pressure as long as possible, e.g., more lsa. I run 113 lsa in my blown 346 cid.
