WTF is this condensation??
WTF is this condensation?? I noticed my car smoking today when i started it up. I've been through so much **** with leaking valve guides, cracked block etc that I got worried.
I checked for oil in the coolant and coolant in the oil. Looked for smoke comin out the oil fill cap, and all those other signs of something not sealing.
Well just a few minutes ago i started it up and went to go test something(WOT). Came back to the house, and NO SMOKE!
When it was smoking earlier in the day I noticed something wet in the tailpipes. Couldn't figure out if it was fuel or oil b/c of the carbon nioldup in there.
This time there was none in the tailpipes. But I did have ALOT of condensation on the bottom of the oil fill cap. I know a little is normal, but it actually dripped off of there. Any idea what's causing this stuff? The car was full warm for a good 5-8 minutes earlier in the day when the condensation was still in the tail pipes.

Re: WTF is this condensation?? what kind of driving do you do most of the time? constant in town driving can produce more condensation than higher speeds if the oil temp does not get high enough to burn off all of the water. and is ethenol enriched gas offered in your area? if so this will lead to much more than normal water in the exhaust.
Re: WTF is this condensation?? Sees mostly in town driving and trips to the track. Gets driven hard. The weather has changed lately. It's been in the 50's and 60's but isn't any less humid than always in houston. Have no idea on the gas.
