I'm a fan of the smaller cams. You can still make decent power & not really lose any driveability. I went with the 224/.581 114, which has sent many cars into the 11's full weight. You won't get the big numbers to brag about, but the power under the curve will definetly show on the track & street.

A few of my favorite cams that are out there are the LG Motorsports G5X3/G5X4, the MS3/MS4, T-Rex, and the F13/F14. The smallest one would be the F13. The T-Rex and MS4 are the two largest cams, so it's all about how big you want to go. You'll make good power with any of them.

Stock heads??? as soon as you drive it you WILL rip it apart again and put some LS6 ported on as there comparatively inexpensive A new PAIR should not be more than $1500 you can save that in a couple of pay checks>> if you wait you will be soooo glad that you did!!! To answer your question on a cam only set up 224/224 112 +3 might do what I think you want!

Well if you just want sound then get like a 226/228 588/588 on like a 110LSA
that will get you the sound you want
.
Now if your wanting something that pulls down low then the above cam is also suggested.
Now if you want a cam that makes the power up top and has a nasty cut up then go with the MS3, MS4, or T-rex. Those cams are harder to tune for and also will need larger stalls which some say brings down the driveability IMO its all about YOU, what do you see as fit for a DD or a good street car? Your the one thats gunna have to make that decision.
Hope this helps
