Default Quick Question

I have a basically stock 5.7 liter ls6. If I upgraded my valve springs/pushrods etc etc....but no headword and no cam.....would I benefit at all from this??? Redline higher? more hp? better response? anything? Also would I benefit from doing this if I plan on spraying a small shot....I may do a cam in the future....just seeing if upgrading all the heads internals would do anything for me now....I know I will do it anyway when I do get the cam....but that could be a year or so. So question is....if i buy the "cam upgrade kit" but dont have a cam...what good would I get out of it. Thanks and sorry if this is a dumb Q.

Short answer, no it's not worth the time/effort/money.

If you want to spray it with a small/moderate shot go for it. Be sure to read up in the nitrous section. They have good stickies and the search button can answer most any other question you might have.

Just wait until you get a cam to do the springs, pushrods, etc.

the only way you'd make any more pwer would be if you're stock springs are wearing out and you're getting valve float on the top end.

and also theoretically, if you were to upgrade to Ti retainers, which are lighter...you're reducing valvetrain weight...which would result in more power. but in all reality...it would never be enough to see on a dyno...let alone feel.

i say wait for the cam as well

unless you just enjoy wrenching on your engine

No point in doing that since the stock cam runs out of breath anyway so you wont make anything more up top.
