Default Upgrading to LS6 PCV system, few questions

Well, the more I think about it, and search on it, the more I realize my car is suffering from a poor pcv system. I've read a little about upgrading the PCV system to the LS6 style. What all would this involve? I figured I would need the LS6 valley cover, already have the LS6 intake, but what else would I need? From what I've read, I'm not to sure on, what part of my stock PCV system would I keep, and what would be done away with? I appreciate the help guys. As always pic's are always welcome

Dont mean to flame here but from your sig there are alot of other things you can do to make power. Not sure if you are going for a really reliable daily driver though because then i can see why you arent doing somethings.

ok, the reason behind upgrading the PCV system, is not for performance, but so fix an all to well know problem of burning oil. I dont really see a point to adding cam, heads, and all other mods, when my cars not even running up to par in stock form, ie. pinging in high rpm, hesitation, rough idle, oil in intake.

Get ahold of VALVEGOD on here, he usually posts in thefor sale section, he could get you all the parts, i'm drawing a blank, but i know i bought the LS6 Valve covers/valley cover/and intake, and i think he said it's just a matter of making a new PCV hose, that or he sells one for like 60 bucks, so if yours is bad already, might as well buy his new one.

Oil consumption is the problem i always forget about. I just remember piston slap. Luckily i got a car in the batch without either of those problems. Sorry didnt mean to sound like a dick just wasnt sure.

I didnt think my car had a problem either, until someone pointed out that my dyno numbers looked a little low. That was this morning, and the more I thought about it, all day, it makes sence, that when I did my LS6 intake swap, there was a thin layer of oil in the intake ports on the heads, it pings at high rpm, and the idle is a little rough. I want to go ahead and get this fixed before I do my cam swap in Jan Luckily I dont have the piston slap problem either

I have already done this swap. If I had it to do over again, I would pull my heads off & clean them up. The tops of the pistons and the combustion chambers get heavily coated with carbon deposits (because of the oil contamination). I tried cleaning them by using the GM Top Engine Cleaner, & sucking it into the intake via the PCV vacuum hose. I think that spraying it into the combustion chambers via the spark plug holes might work better. If you pull the heads off, you can scrape the tops of the pistons w/ a razor knife, and also clean up the combustion chambers.

Did the 01 and 02 LS1 engines get this fix since they use the LS6 intake?

There has been some discussion as to wether 01s and 02s use the same block as the LS6. In short, I don't know
But this would definately be a good way to find out.

All the 01/02 LS1's have the LS6 intake and valley cover. The only difference in the blocks that I know of is that the earlier LS1's have a casting boss that has to be ground down a tad so that the LS6 stuff will fit.
