Default need to find this out quick- rod side clearance

this is actually on an lt1 but i need this answer quick and this section is a little more popular. i apologize to the mods if this is out of line just need to know fast. i checked rod side clearance on my motor and it ranges from .011-.017. is this too big? some people have said yes and some have said no. if it is too much, what exactly causes that? this a a stock shortblock that was running when pulled. thanks everybody it is greatly appreciated

That is fine...you could have more than that...it lets a little more oil flow thru rod bearings which helps cooling. That is why race engines run larger side clearances.
