Default gap on plugs???

Installing ported/polished heads (compression at 11.1:1) and a TR224/224 112 cam. The car has all the bolt-ons (no power adders....). The only change to the ignitions system is a set of MSD 8.5mm plug wires.

I am using Champion RS9YC plugs (on heat range cooler than stock). I have them set at 0.050" gap now. Is that good or should I reduce the gap? If needs to be reduced, then to what?

I'm not familiar with those plugs but that is plenty narrow for your power level. Just don't gap them more than .010 different than where they come pre-gapped.
