Default piston ring gap and rod bolts

trying to find some help with piston ring gap specs on a stock bore ls1. just got a fresh hone with a new set of rings from GM. based off the information ive managed to scramble up. the top ring has a dot on it that faces up and should get a gap of .009 and the 2nd ring gets a .014. well the top ring is showing some crazy number of .025 and the 2nd ring is showing the .009 im looking for. im pretty lost and confused on this and have been search for hours, but haven't found anything usefull on any forum about this or any books i could find locally short of an actualy GM service manual.

my next issue is the ARP rod bolts. i just read something about having to remove the ferrels out of the rod caps or else it will cause damage. im curious as to why and whats the best method to remove these. with the search on here being fucked all of the sudden its making this build go extremely slow tonight =[
