Default ls6 cam questions?

my uncle scored a couple of ls6 cams for cheap, he has an 06 gto, and i have an 07 gmc sierra with the iron block 5.3.

sdpc couldnt tell me what length pushrod i should go with when these cams go in, has anyone done this swap? im new to ls series motors and i dont know if the 5.3 i have has the same basic parts as my uncles 6.0.

the ls6 cams have a smaller base circle, and that is the reason for a longer pushrod, correct? could i just subtract the base circle difference and add that to the pushrod length?

Do you know which year model those cams are? There were a couple different part numbers which had a couple different base circles....your best bet is likely a pushrod length checker to be sure (or measure the base circle so we can be sure which length you need)!

You could do that Subtraction, but to be sure, just purchase a Pushrod Length Checker. (Jesel and a few other places have them)

Better to be safe and on the money then using a set of dial calipers. Either way will work, but it will be closer with a nice pushrod checker.
