Default Clevite Bearings : P or H series?

What is the difference between the clevite p and h series bearings? I will be using htem with a new l92 crank.

i think its the H's that have a wider surface. they will not work on some aftermarket cranks since the fillet is larger

From what I've learned from the pro's at SDPC that built my engine, the P series are used for stock displacement engines, and the H's are used on the bigger 4" stroke engines...

More specifically, the H bearings are for the aftermarket crankshafts and are slightly narrower than the P bearings. This is needed because of the way the aftermarket cranks are cut, the wider bearings will not seat down the same and will cause an oil hemorage (sp?) and subsequent loss of oil pressure.

I have seen people using the H series with stock crank builds. Is there any advantage to this? Anything to do with loading on the bearings? This is going to be a FI 750hp target build

Thanks for clarifying that Matt

FWIW I'll probably be in that same range (>700rwhp) once I get the meth system operating on my car... The P bearings haven't had any problems so far with 630 rwhp tho...
