Default My motor hydrolocked

Well it finnaly happend. It all started last month when I thought I blew a head gasket right after h/c/i swap. It was leaking on the #1 cylinder. Changed the pain in the *** cometics with a new set. Leaked the next day. Had the heads at a machine shop they were warped. Put the heads and went back to STOCK gm mls gaskets it sealed for a week. Well tonight when my car was supposed to be re tuned the unimagineable happend. I drove my car an hour before this happend to make sure everything was ok. It sat for maye another hour in the driveway while I took a shower and got ready. My friend was goign with me to the dyno I fired it up it probably fired on 3 cylinders then shut off. Wont turn over. pulled the plugs out the same #1 cylinder that was causing problems before was full of coolant and the motor still wont turn over with the plugs out by hand, starter, or using a socket and ratchet. Its done. So in conclusion none of the gaskets were blown. The motor is trashed. My only guess is there was a crack in the sleeve we couldnt see on the #1 cylinder and when I shut the car off in my driveway today the piston was sitting perfectly where coolant could leak into the cylinder and when I went to fire it she locked up. Anyone think my heads are fucked? The good news is a forged shortblock will be on the way tomorrow

Too bad you already have ordered the short block. I have 2 LS1 blocks, one with a repaired sleeve and one new sitting. And I live 15 miles from you.

That sucks. I hydro locked my old LS1 during hurricane Charlie mainly due to my own stupidity. Good luck with the new one.

Hey... i am a part of that club as well....

Had a local LS1 shop re-sleeve my block... it NEVER sealed, i drove it for awhile with a heating issue... I bought new WP, fan's,relays,t-stat,radiator, everything.. to no avail... I told the shop it was the sleeve..

They blew me off,,, and i blew the motor...
Here is the aftermath... I feel ya.. it sucks...!

I took my car to LGM and it has NEVER ran this good.! EVER!!

Good luck buddy...
