Any good threads for engine removal? I've got a week off form work and want to pull the motor to put a new cam, ported oil pump, and change the oil pan gasket which is leaking. I searched and couldn't find anything.

Theres a book that is available both online and at many autozones about ls1's and gen 3 motors.. it has a truck, a camaro and a vette on the cover.. it has removal procedures for all of those vehicles, as well as how to keep from losing any AC refrigerant or PS fluid.

Pick it up, it also covers engine building tips/advice. I have found it invaluable, next to my haynes manual for my first engine build.
