recomend an EMISSIONS friendly cam
First let me state that although I'm running a stock cube LS1 it's in a 94 Z28. IT HAS TO PASS THE TAILPIPE SNIFFER TEST. No OBD II plug in your car test here. It actually has to run clean. My goals are actually low for most. I'd like low 12s and hopefully near 400rwhp. Right now I'm consittering MAC headers.
I read the entire SMALL cam thread but most of what was recomended is too big to pass emissions.
Thanx

The Lingenfelter GT11 will probably do the trick for you. It's the one that they put in their CTS-V packages and has the characteristics that you're looking for. It's designed to work through the stock exhaust w/cats.
Another similar cam would be the Thunder Racing CheatR. A little less lift that the LPE cam.

Unless you're a good driver or launching on slicks, you may want to consider heads as well to reach your ET goal. LT1's need em anyways
good luck. The most commonly used cam to pass the sniffer is the TR 224 on a 114 LSA

Of the cams mentioned, which would be consittered more of a sleeper. Unlike most people I don't want something that lopes a lot and calls attentin to it's self. I'd also rather give up some horsepower if it's gonna get me torque I can more readily use.
I'm looking for maximum power below 5500-6000rpm.

If you stay in the -4 to -8 range you'll pass with an ok tune. A good tune will pass at 0 overlap.
The cam in my sig is -8 overlap and makes very good torque; shift at 6200.

I lived in Los Angeles for two years with a big rumpedy cam and the cops didn't even give me a second look. My cam would've never passed and you could tell It wasn't stock, so don't worry about that, just worry about passing.
Another option is the custom cam from SDPC which is a crane 220/224 551/551 114 LSA Its very cheap and you can use the LS6 springs, crane told me this cam won't need spring change unless you go over 100,000 miles, its just like having the hotcam far as spring changes go.
You can get the cam, springs, and gasket set for 459 bucks. I couldn't find the LS2 chain but thats another 30 bucks and I know they carry it, so thats all you'll probably need. heres the link if your interested.
