Default Installed FAST intake and 90MM - HELP

Why does the car idle so high. I have to put it in a high gear to get the rpms to fall. I can drive down the highway and 60 - 70 without cruz, it does it on its own.

Help. Has anyone ran into this problem? I heard this is found using the FAST 90 TB.

I am not sure if there is a idle screw on the 90mm TB but if there is you might want to check that and lower it.

If there's no idle screw on the TB you could try epoxying the current idle hole and drilling your own. Start small and work your way up slowly. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Is it a FAST TB? I have read a couple of threads that they had some idle control problems

One there is no current hole. Also the idle seems to be fine. If I turn the car on it will rev to about 2000 and then drop to 8 - 900 and stay there. But driving down the road is a big problem. The rpms do not drop after touching the peddal.

Yes it is a FAST 90mm TB. I just got off the phone and they seem to believe that the problem is with IAC and the old problem has been resolved. But I can tell you this, there is some problem with mine.

Either there is a hole in the brand new intake seals or a problem with the TB.

It's likley the shaft sticking just like the old ones. I doubt it has anything to do with IAC.

You did use the new valley pan bolts that came with the intake, correct??

The reason he is asking is that if you didn't, then you cracked the FAST intake and you're having unmetered air going in.

Yes I did use the valley bolts. I don't think the problem is with the intake because if it were "I would think" the idle would be a problem but it is not. My problem seems to be more with the throttle and driving down the road. I drove 5 miles a 60 - 70mph without touching the peddle or cruz control.

if it idles fine then it probably isn't the idle screw.if there is no vacuum leaks i would check the tune.when going down the road can you put it in neutral and the rpms drop or does it stay revved ?
maybe take it for a test drive and if the rpms hang throw it up in neutral and pull over and check the t/b to see if it is sticking or not.

Good point on the screw. No if I am driving down the road and put it in neutral the RPMs shoot up. To get them to drop I have to put it in a high gear and slow down so the RPM are below 1000 and then the car will settle down shortly there after.

i had desame problem when i first test drive after the 90/90 setup. the idle screw was touching the belows clamp.

I had the same prob with my 90/90 setup,it is the fast tb.Put on another companies tb and prob was fixed.

Well I found the problem. It was actually 2 problems.

1. The throttle screw needed to be back off. This stopped the over reving.
2. Also the throttle was hanging so I had to put some lube on the spring.

All problems resolved until I went to dyno. I didn't gain a thing!!!!

I think this is because either one I need to increase Cam, head and or cubes. Or the MAF is now the restriction. We will see.

if you did not have the intake ported I am not surprised...the FAST intake without porting is worthless..
