check it with adj. p-rod. I used 7.400 with H/C swap, sounded like sewing machine so I went with 7.425 and measured valve stem swipe. perfect! I reccomend it.

Question how many use the method in the sticky to verify push rod lenth. I just bought a nice 8" caliper to measure my lenth. I just could not get buy with the method of counting how many turns on the adjustable pushrod checker. I plan on putting the adjustable pushrod checker in marking the valve stem and working until I have the correct marking pattern on the valve. After I have this I can just measure the adjustable pushrod. I shouldn`t have to add preload after that correct?

My 02 LS1 still has the stock heads in place and I just want to install a cam. If the base circle of the replacement cam is the same as the stock cam shouldn't I be good with stock length pushrods?
