What kind of procedure should I go through on the first startup on my new motor? I read in my haynes manual that I should disable fuel and ignition, pull plugs, then turn the motor over with starter to prime the oil pump, then re-enable systems and install plugs and then start up. Do yall recommend this or is there a better way?

What should I listen/watch for as I crank it up for the first time? I know to watch the oil PSI after starting it up.
