Default HELP check engine light ,knocking sound

i just got back my 01 ta with a fresh motor and a 232/234 595/598 113 cam from tsp. i have noticed a small knocking sound , sounds like a sewing machine while driveing down the road. I also have a check engine light that comes on and the code is ( knock sensor 1 circuit low imput - bank 1 or single sensor) could this be the cam doing this and the sound i hear are the lifter? is that normal. any info would help . i have about 600 miles on the new motor

The sewing machine noise is fairly common place, especially if youre using 7.400 pushrods and/or dual springs. Using 7.425 pushrods will get the lifter preload closer to stock, and it tends to quiet things down. I wouldnt worry too much about this noise.

The knock sensor issue is seperate. The low level error means the the sensor is not plugged in, or its shot. The computer is not receiving a signal from it. Pull the intake and take a look. Maybe its unplugged.
