will this pcv setup work for heads/cam car? its basically gonna be a stock LS1 style PCV system, with a catch can to prevent oil in the intake, and a breather to relieve any extra pressure. will the breather cause any unmetered air in the combustion chambers? i'm sorry and pardon my ignorance on the matter, i just don't wish to switch to the LS6 style PCV when i know it doesn't solve the problem at all. thanks

I know I have an LT1, but the pcv system works the same basic way. I run a catch can inline with the pcv line, and I took off the fresh air hose and put a breather in place of it. With the catch can, 99% of the oil was getting in the intake from the fresh air hose under WOT. With a breather on, this is un-metered air going in, but my car adjusted to it just fine, it idles fine, ect...
I thought you either run a breather filter or you run a catch can....not both. If you insert a breather in-line with your PCV system, which is connected to your intake manifold, you are essentially providing an open door for unmetered air. That in turn creates a lean condition, idle difficulties, etc. Either cap off your intake manifold and run a breather filter or run the catch can. JMO...
The answer to the Un-metered air is Yes.. Some added air as the breather open the engine to the outside air as before it was sealed. Your going to get lot of options and answer to which way to go or which is the bad way.. I just added a Catch Can.

hmmm ok, i'll try out the breather with the stock PCV. if the car gets too lean or something i will just ditch it. otherwise, i'm keeping it on. thanks guys
