Default Shimming oil pump to .100

Well my engine is at the builder and debating about having my motor guy shim the oil pump. I called him today and told him to shim the spring .100 and he asked me if that was correct. I told him I was 99% sure. Should I have him go ahead and shim it .100?

I shimmed mine .100. Don't know if that's the preferred amount but for mine, it was good.

While in the pump I suggest polishing the relief plunger and honing the bypass passageway. You can also port the pump's inlet and outlet passageways.

Im guessing that this would be done to increase the oil pressure? so shimmed and ported how much better than the stock one?

Yes, this mod increases oil pressure.
