cam for a 2800 stall?
cam for a 2800 stall? I just recently blew my motor and I'm either rebuilding or getting a new one. So I figured while they are in there, I may get a new cam put in. Rite now I have a t1 cam from mti. My stall is a 2800, but the guys at the transmission place said it is a really good stall and it can be tuned to a 3500 stall. So my question is, what is the biggest cam I can do for this stall? Also, how easy is it for them to tune it to a 3500 and If I did that, what size cam could I put in? I also have a guy that may port my heads while there out...so keep that in consideration
A really good 2800 stall typically becomes a mediocre 3500 stall by messing with the blade angle. I'd leave it alone if you are happy with it.
You can run a decent sized cam, I'd just keep the IVC a bit early so you have good torque. If you mill the heads that will have a major impact on IVC. Hard to know what port job you'll get so that isn't too helpful.
