Default Cam install AFTER dyno tune ?

Have a qwik question, I already have a dyno tune on my car with exhaust bolt on's etc. If I get a cam swap done locally, can I drive it 2 hrs away to be re-tuned? My engine won't be running bad from the differernt cam will it?

And another question on the tune, the shop before downloaded an LS1 edit tune, I dont have the hardware. Can another shop with LS1 edit programming just go into my current tune and tweak it?

Thx for any info.

i drove my car 2 months as a daily driver before getting it tuned, it all depends on how much you can tolerate and what size cam, i had the texas speed torquer 2 its a middle cam by todays standards.

I had my car dialed in with bolt-ons. I added the heads/cam and ****, and drove it about 1.5-2 hrs away to get it tuned. My car actually drove great, about as good as it does now, which surprised me. You'll be fine, just stay out of the throttle til your tuned in case it's too lean.

Depends on how big the cam is. If its fairly mild (230 ish) you should be able to drive it but will probably have stalling issues when you slow or stop. If its a big 'un (240's) you'll be better off trailering it. Either way I wouldn't drive it for long (as in days) or beat on it at all until tuned.

dont be afraid on driving it that far, shouldn't be a problem at all. as for the tune, you might have to go to the same place if they locked it. some tuners do it, some don't. if you want to go to another tuner, just call the place that tuned your car and ask them if they locked it or not. but good luck bud and congrats.
