Default ***Oil pressure question***

Ok I just installed a tr224 cam, Comp 918 springs and a LS6 oil pump last weekend. Now when I start the car the oil pressure is between 40-50 psi. But once the car gets hot, it drops to 20-25 psi. And when you rev it it goes to about 40psi but wont go any higher. What is the problem?

If it's lower than you had before......you may have pinched the Oring on the pump. Pretty easy to do.

Oil restriction or spun bearing. Check the O ring, it might have a small leak. If it's all good, check pressure accuracy with a mechanical guage. If it's right, go from there....

Usually the problem is the O ring. The mistake most people make when they pinch their o ring is that they try to connect the pickup tube with the oil pump bolted to the block. It's much easier to get a flat seal with the oil pump unbolted. Also, make sure it's that blue O ring, I hear the browns are prone to leak easier!!

Default O-Ring, O-Ring, O-Ring.

Been there, done that.
