Default Comp R Lifter Failure

I was removing my stage 1 heads to replace with stage 3 LS6 heads when I pulled the lifters to inspect them. To my amazment, the first lifter on the passenger side had the retaining clip lodged in the plastic tray. The top of the lifter was wedged on the casing at a 45 degree angle. The push rod had no damage or indication that was any stress on it. The really goofy thing is the car still ran great. I have no idea how long this has been like this but I am really lucky this did not come apart in the engine. I will include pictures later tonight...

like you said though it runs fine so youd never know till you tear it down and the lifters will never fall apart as the psuhrods hold them together and in place

never again thats for sure

Comp -R lifters have been plagues with problems. Usually the roller axle backs out and comes apart toasting the motor.

Not sure if you mean the lifter that failed or Comp R in general. I know that I did not overload these lifters...
