Default Oil through rocker arm bolt holes???

I noticed oil on the back of my throttle blades while fixing my Vic jr and started to look for the source. Im not running any kind of PCV system so there is no blow by issues there. I pulled the heads to change valve springs and check for a possible damaged piston (which was fine) and noticed even more oil coating the runners in the intake and head,,,all the way to the back of the TB. I have ETP 225's and I did use back RTV silicone on the rocker arm bolts, but Ive heard that oil breaks the silicone down and cause it to leak through. Now if that is the source, would it be this much oil?? Or would this much oil be a valve guide problem??? Its also a long shot, but what would signs of oil blowing by the rings be??

Any help, advice or experience with this would be great. Thanks

I don't know the answers to your other questions, but the proper product to use on the rocker bolts is thread sealer, not RTV. Try it and see if it stops your oil problem.

I have the same issue. Only time i noticed oil was when i pulled the intake and looked down the runners on the head. They were a brownish color instead of silver. I also get a little bit of smoke when i go WOT. Picked up some GM Red thread locker/sealant, seemed to fix the problem for now...

thax guys,,,,,ive heard about 20 different opinions of what the prob could be, but I wanted to hear actual experience. I had no idea RTV could the problem or else I wouldnt ehave even used it at all. Ill bolt the heads back down and use blue or red thread lock and see how it goes. Prolly change the valve guides for good luck.

Better than pulling the motor to check bearings for oil by the rings. Thanks
