Default question about ls6 heads

ok so i just got a set of bare ls6 heads brand new. i also have a set of patriot golds (.650 lift) springs to install. all i need to put together the heads are valves. i was think of just going with some stock valves and bolting them on my car.

but...

ive been toying with the fact of sending them out to a reputable machine shop and having them worked a little bit. 5 angle valve job. cnc porting and hand polishing.

but... money is an issue and i think i would be happy with just stock ls6 heads.

going to eventually get a torquer v2 cam so what is your opinion?

Well with a good port job you'll pick up another 15~20 Hp so if it can be done reasonably ($$$) I'd say go for it. But make sure the shop has experience porting them otherwise they may rob power.

i don't know what your budget is, but it might not be a bad idea to call around to some of the sponsors and find out how much they would charge to CNC your heads. also, i know that i've seen several sponsor's prices in this forum, you'd probably be able to find it in a search.
find out how much it is going to cost and then you can evaluate if it is in the budget or not.
personally, i'd say if it won't put your finances in a bind, do it.

Just get a valve job and then have it blended in. Should make for a decent gain in performance and still be reasonably cheap.
