Default FAST 90/90 setup

Ok, I have a semi stock motor right now. Has the basic bolt on's IE: race headers, Y pipe, basically full exhaust. Im wondering if doing the 90/90 setup right now would be bad for the car. Or should I wait to do an intake and TB setup untill i have a cam and heads. Just spitballing here, let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

It wouldn't be bad for the car, but your gains will not be as high on a stock internals motor as a H/C motor. If you plan on a cam and heads later on then go for it. Personally I would get a H/C package first since you can get it for only a few hundred more than a 90/90 setup. Granted it all comes to the same result in the end, I'm just not that patient.

$1k for 90/90 set up = 15 hp

$300 cam + $250 springs + $150 pushrods + $150 oil pump + $50 fluid/gaskets = Considerably more then 15 hp

Either would have to be tuned so I didn't include that cost and those numbers are just off the top of my head so don't quote me on anything.

I would keep the stocker and go for heads and cam. If you don't want to tear open the engine get the LS6 intake and port it and your stock TB.

You cant do that to a factory LS6 intake. Only the aftermarket ones, such as the FAST intakes.

It wouldnt be "bad" like was already stated, but its overkill for what you have. You have to have a need for more flow. Pick yourself up a used LS6 intake for about ~$300. Good for about ~20 hp, especially with the exhaust mods. The Shaner S2 TB are a good bang for the buck addition too.

Sorry I should have said "Port match". A few people have gone into the intake and ported it a bit but you're right the LS6 can't be fully ported like the FAST setup.
