Default new engine

Just got my new engine installed and had a few questions. My mechanic installed a new transmission line and my car shifts alot smoother...is that the reason why? And when I go to get my car dyno tuned will they be able to make it shift harder or does that have to be done at the place where I got the shift kit? Also, my mechanic told me I should leave the cap on my cutout to listen to my engine to make sure it doesn't make any noise...I shouldn't have any problems with my new engine should I or what does he probably want me listening for?

you can have the tuner firm up the shift, but dont let them screw with the line pressure too much.

Also, I just noticed this today. I was walking out to my car and I saw this wire thing hanging down to the ground. I look under there and it's hanging off of my transmission, like it ripped off from somewhere...so I took it to a near by mechanic and he told me it was a vent tube for the transmission. Should I not be driving my car until I get that fixed?

I agree with that, until you know everything is good to go.
