Default Necessary Machine Work?

I am building a turbo ls1, going to use the stock crank, probably scat h beams and mahle forged pistons. I am staying stock displacement. I will be putting the motor together with a friend who is good at putting them together. Anything to watch for that is different on an LS1 than a regular sbc?

I am building off of a longblock 00 ls1 that came out of a wrecked car so its engine should have no problems like spun bearings.

What is absolutely necessary when building a new motor? I will have them check the heads for flatness and balance the rotating assembly. What else? Trying to not spend money on "extras" that I really don't need.

Thanks guys.

I've been told the cylinders need a hone with new rings.
