Default Can I Reuse My 6L MLS Gaskets???

Can I Reuse MY 6L MLS Gaskets??? I'm just finishing up my 408 build and find that I have to pull the heads to replace the valves. The engine has not been run. Is there any reason that I shouldn't reuse the head gaskets. I don't want to take any chances if there is any risk at all. Thanks

If you TQ'd the heads down, I do not believe you can re-use the gaskets

I go through this question every time I do a motor. I know they say that you can use them (MLS gaskets) again, but is it worth taking your engine back out if you find a leak? I usually replace them

Oh man.... I put mine on and TQ'd the heads to the 22 ft lbs, but did not stretch the bolts and put the serious pressure on them. I had to pull a head, so I removed everything, did what I needed to do, and reinstalled it, this time stretching the bolts like it says on LS1howto.com. Did I **** up?

I wouldn't risk it. Cheap insurance to replace them.

From what I understand, you can reuse it if you havnt run the engine. Although it is cheap insurance to replace it.

Why not pull the head and inspect. Af you see any of the black rubber coating rubbed off on the head or the block, DO NOT REUSE IT.

do not reuse them,
they are to cheep to have problems with them
down the line, esp. with your 408,
if it was some slap together, need it just to run for
week or so, then it would be okay, if it was an emergency
to have a running car.
i would not risk a few grand shortblock for
less than a 100$ pair of gaskets.
