Default building engine...comb. chamber vs piston dish Q's

I need some advice with building a low compression (about 8.6:1 - 8.9:1) engine for boost. Is it better to go with a smaller head combustion chamber and a larger dish in the piston or should it be built with larger combustion chambers in the heads and less of a dish to the piston. Which setup would flow better? I have heard to go with smaller combustion chambers and larger dish in the piston because this is less prone to detonation vs. the other setup mentioned. A larger dished piston would mean less rotating mass also.
I was thinking LS6 heads (smaller combustion chamber) and Lunati -22cc dished pistons for about 8.6:1 compression ratio. Or, should I go with 6.0L heads (large combustion chamber) and some -12cc pistons?
Which setup is best?

I like the idea of staying with 67-7 cc chamber heads.

I'd gett pistons with more dish to get the compression you want.

I am 9:1 with 6.0 headers and -8.6cc Diamond Pistons that are off the shelf.

the small chamber would be the way to go 1. the smaller the chamber the closer the valves are to the bottom of the cylinder head, and the cumbudtion chamber is the main shrouding element for the valves unless you are running huge valves in a small bore. 2. the more surface area of the piston (IE: dish of the piston) the more area for cylinder pressure to transfer the force of combustion.

Excellent response So, going with LS6 heads (smaller combustion chamber) and deeper dishes in the piston to make up for the small comb. chamber seems like the better way to go.
