Default Very confused about "2" things

I kind of threw myself into this postion, wanting to change my heads, and throw in another cam, now just need some assurance "1" my new ASP pulley doesn't go all the way up to the timing cover seal. The pulley is torqued to 235FTLbs, and the other pulley line up with it, so i'm confused now. Is it going to leak, or does the balancer not have to be against the timing cover seal to "seal"????? "2" I bought 5.3 StageII heads (2.02/1.57, double valve springs, etc..) will they flow as good as stageII 5.7's??? I

FWIW, I don't know of a single ASP crank pulley, including my own, that's ever sat flush with the seal. You'll see what may appear to be an unnatural gap there. If it's torqued and the other pullies are aligned, you should be fine.

Everything I've ever heard about the 5.3 heads are that they flowed better on the exhaust side than the 5.7's do. I cannot speak from personal experiences about heads (yet!) but they should flow very well at Stage II porting. You are shooting for an increase in compression by using them, right?

The seal rides on the hub of the balancer. As long as the seal itself is good, you will be fine.

I am in no way questioning what you say, but based on your comment, I have a question. If this is true, why is it that so many people have said that they needed to get their ASP pulley milled when going with a double roller timing chain? If the pulley isn't even supposed to touch the seal, and the seal separates the inside of the timing cover from the outside, then in theory, anything inside the timing cover like the chain should have no effect on the pulley...am I correct?

Where I believe the issues came into play with the double roller chains is the new crank gear is "wider" than the stock one and therefore, the ASP was essentially sticking into the cover too far and causing clearance issues between it and the sprocket.

What I meant originally is that with the stock timing setup, the "snout" portion of the ASP slides into the crank seal but will not slide down far enough to sit flush on the cover. It looks like there is a lot of silver showing that appears like it should slide further down on the crank snout, but it wont. It looks abnormal, but isn't.
