question about cam sound and idle
question about cam sound and idle i wanna know is it possible to get a cam made that idles identical to a stock ls1 cam and sunds like one ..because im not into the choppyness but i wanna produce some more power and im tryin to find out if i was to crank up my car what it sit and pur like a kittin nice and quiet!! some one help plz!!!!!!!!!!!
Look into cam with a larger LSA 114-116 deg.. that will help bleed off some of that choppy idle.
Give the cam manufactors tech line a call or email them.. they will recommend you something from there line of cams will suit your requirements.

"CheaTR" - 214/230 .601/.575 117 LSA. Off Idle-6800 RPM Power Band. Broad power range. Works well with stock exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters. Stock like idle. Minor tuning required on automatic transmission cars. Responds very well to nitrous. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended. Double valve springs and titanium retainers required for this cam.
