I have a very slight oil leak it appears to be dripping from the outside of the oil pan (towards the center of the bottom of the pan). i went to a shop and the said it was the rear main. but to me it doesnt appear to be the rear main. my question is when the rear main seal has gone bad where would the oil leak from? Also i put some sealant around the oil pan and it does not look like it is coming from the pan seal. any help would be appreciated.

More than likely it is from the seal. De grease it with Gunk and then check where it first appears.
