Default H/C and other stuff install in progress

thought i share my experiences so far with the install.

i started in the morning today, and stopped at 8pm tonight.
went as far as removing the heads and water pump.
meaning, clearing and removing all i needed to to get to this point.

in our cars, the radiator and A/C cores are a PITA, but i was lucky enough to not have found as difficult.

i am sure the harmonic balancer will make me pay, though. lol

next step should be removing the timing cover, oil pump, crank sprocket, cam.

then clean up before i start installing the new stuff.

i am doing H/C, injectors, ported intake, under drive pulley, pushrods, lifters, and i think that's it. i might be forgetting something. oh, well!

i am beat! lol

PS: oh! what do you guys use to clean the pistons of that black stuff on them? thanks!

It depends how heavy the carbon deposits are on the pistons. I've used a soft / fine wire brush to clean heavy deposits. If they aren't too bad, then some WD40 and scotch-brite should work.

Sounds like your well on your way; I wish you good luck on the rest. I'm going to be starting my heads/cam swap here in the next few days. Good luck and I'd be interested if you hit any pitfalls or any advice you’d like to pass on as you go thought the process!!!
