Default Cam Question

If you look at most cams, the increase in duration and lift are linear. As they increase, the size of the powerband decreases and moves higher in the RPM range. At the same time, the cam usually produces more peak HP. This moving of the powerband, is it due to the larger duration or the higher lift, or a combination of both. I'm just trying to get some ideas for a the most agressive cam I can get but still have a wide powerband that is not so far up in the RPM range.....Any ideas

Get something on a tighter LSA. Get something on a 112lsa if in the mid 22x range if you go higher then go on a 111 or 110 lsa

im shifting my 224/224 14 cam at 6450 so im not thatttt much higher than stock. Peak power with a 112 and 114 cam is usually 6300-6400 anyway

you can shift whereever you want... you wont loose that much shifting a little lower either

TR222 is a nice cam
or you could check out the Comp cam line on LS1SPEED in the 220/220, 222/222, and the 224/224 in 112 or 114 LSA's

for about every 10 degrees in duration u go up, u raise the powerband by about 500rpms... but that only goes if the LSA's stay the same... also figure on lowering and narrowing the powerband by 100rpms's for every degree of LSA u go down... 110lsa= /\ peak, 116lsa= /``\ flatter...
