Default Rod Length?

Is stock LSX rod length 6.125" or 6.000" ?? Thanks for helping me out.

6.100 is stock rod length.

wellllllll.... its 6.098". Problem is that the pistons are already out of the hole .010 in the stock setup. Another few thou may not be the brightest idea.

the pistons are already out of the hole .010 in the stock setup now I'm really confused.. I thought it was .008" out of the hole.

You can go with a longer rod but you need to have the correct pistion for the rod lenght. I am using a 6.200" rod but i have to get a custom set of pistons made for the rod. With a longer rod you need to move the wrist pin higher on the piston to compansate for the increased lenght, but you will increase you dwell(time that the piston is at TDC) which will increase performance. I think i have that right.

Yes you have that right. I use 6.200 rods on most of the motors we build. Helps out with a lot of things, like piston cylinder sidewall wear.
