Default Get my car back today

Well... I finally get my car back from the body shop today. I got rearended about a month ago, so my car has just been chillin' at the shop.

Is it safe to drive like I normally would, or should I take it easy for a little while first? Its been started and moved around the shop, so the engine has been run a few times in the past month or so.

Thanks fellas.

Id say you dont necessarily have to take it easy but dont go ***** to the wall as soon as you leave the shop. Id make sure to toss some newer 93/94 octance gas in as soon as possible and maybe change the oil, but thats just me as im super cautions with my cars. Otherwise you shouldnt have any problems and congrats on getting the car back!

Was there mechanical damage? If it was only cosmetic then there's nothing to worry about.

Just drive it around like you normally do as a daily driver for a short drive to make sure that all is driving straight and that during turn.. nothing funny decides to skip out or whip around.. (suspension wise).. but I don't think you have anything to worry about !

Just go and feel it out on some turnes and start / stops..

Always wait till teh car's at full operating temp before beating on it, but I dont think you need to baby it any more than normal.

well, I work at a dealership, and sometimes we get cars (not so much in th epast several years with todays EFI) from out body shop that have been down there a while. they will foul out the plugs cause of starting it only for a minute to moe it across the shop soo many times as it progress's to the diff. people in the shop. most shops have several employee's that do several diff. stages of the repair. not 1 person that workes on it start to finish. so it could get started/moved/started/moved a dozen times or more w/o ever being running for more then a couple min.s at a time. Id say, drive it around the block, listen carefully for noises, make sure the alignment is straight and it doesnt pull AND that the steering wheel is straight. then go down the main road, then onto the freeway to help clean up the comubstion chambers. dont need to do anything special, just normal freeway driving is fine to clear it all out and burn any unburned fuel out of there.
