Default Did I mess something up?

I kinda umm...got my car stuck today. My g/f had her diveway resurfaced yesterday and it rained all last night. When I pulled up in the driveway I figured it was just an inch or two over the old gravel and it wouldn't be bad if I went slow. Made it in just fine, but I couldn't back out. Ended up burring it nearly up to the bottom of the car. I dug it out by hand "didn't want anyone trying to pull it out with a chain".

I'm a little worried about the way it was acting after I got out. It got a little hot I would estimate about 235-240 "normal being 210". I didn't think much of it since I caught it and let it cool, but on the way to the car wash when I would take it out of gear after shifting it would be really slow about returning to idle. Sometimes it would stop around 2000 rpms, once it stopped at 2000, then reved up to about 2500 and returned to normal. No smoke and no bad sounds. After washing it for about an hour at the car wash it drove home normal.

Could I have messed anything up? I was reving it up pretty high in 1st gear. I never hit the rev limiter, but I was probably between 4-5000 before I would let off. I had just had the oil changed about an hour before this happend.

What could make it rev up like that?
