LS6 blocks in 2001 & 2002s?
I read somewhere that like 25% of 2002 and 10% of 2001s have LS6 blocks. If so, how can I tell, and what are the advantages to the block over the LS1?

The block is stronger/more rigid, both due to geometry changes to recover strength lost by the addition of larger cast-in breathing windows at the bottom of each cylinder through the bearing webs, and also due to the casting method used by the supplier Nemak, who also made LS1 blocks before the LS6 appeared. Since the new casting is common to the LS1 and LS6, it's not always referred to as an LS6 block by suppliers.
The windows are there to reduce pressure in the crankcase caused by the pistons pumping air between each bearing web, this was causing problems with oil drainback and aeration on prototype Z06s
