Default Cam Guys Please Help!

I just bought a used cam and I noticed that the stud were the cam gear goes is crooked. Looks like I would have to force the gear to sit flush. My question is can the cam stud be replaced or is the cam no good? Does it need that stud?I'm afraid to install it and then have it break off while my engine is running.

take it to your local machine shop, or best yet send it back to the cam manufactuer and have them replace the dowel pin. placement/alignment of the dowel pin is critical.

That should be a easy fix for a machine shop. It shouldn't cost very much either. I would just take it to a respected shop.

Can anyone recommend a machine shop in the Whittier/LA area?
