reason for spuned bearings

reason for spuned bearings couple of months after i bougth my 31k milage 98 m6 camaro last summer it spuned a bearing,
i have heard a lot of reasons for why the early F bodys do that so much, but im curius about what is the real reason? if there is such thing as "offical reason" i have heard that the oil pump just doesnt handle it, that the bearings are just bad, and many other things,
when my car spuned bearing, hit had realy good oil pressure, enough oil, and i was just cruising at 60miles i 6 gear when it started knocking.. and this is an umolested car i bougth from an old man, i knew about 3 other 99-2000 F bodys in my neigborhood with spuned bearing at the time,

in my case there where not, i just happen out of nowhere..
i dont want this to happen agen.. so i bougth realy good bearings.. bolts and ported ls6 oil pump,

The only thing that hold bearings in place is the crush on the bearing, not the tangs on them that slip into the keyway when you put bearings in. You either lost oil pressure or lost the crush on the bearing(like a bolt or rod failure)...or possibly the bearing just started comin apart.

Yeah when my oil pressure goes down around 30 the gauge starts fluttering, I was just hoping that it wasnt anything serious

Sometimes after some higher rpm, the oil pump pressure relief valve sticks open, dumping your oil back into the pan. This is a big problem when you come back down to low rpm and dont flow as much oil to begin with. Other than that, theres water in the oil, fuel in teh oil, low oil, stretched rod bolts, etc.

Man thats sucks. My 99' has 101,000 miles on it & is quiet as ever. In fact it's about to recieve a nice H/C/I package in about 2 weeks.
My wifes cousin bought a 98' & it had less miles on it than mine. His motor went about a month after buying it. Pretty much same thing, was just cruising & it started knocking.
