How to Build Oil Pressure

How to Build Oil Pressure
My engine is nearing completion. I have installed a new oil pump during this process. I know when you fire up the engine for the first time after having it apart, there is a good 4-5 seconds of no oil pressure. Is there something that can be done to help minimize this time? Does cranking the engine with the ignition coils disconnected do anything? Or should I not worry about it and just fire it up when its ready and let it run that 4-5 seconds with no pressure?

Re: How to Build Oil Pressure
I think disconnecting the injector harnesses and coil packs is the way to go to get cranking without starting the engine. I mention the injector harnesses also, this way you don't fill you cylinders with raw fuel...
BTW, after my cam install, the car needed a lot of cranking wihtout anything disconnected to get it running at first anyways!
Good luck

Re: How to Build Oil Pressure
you can use the flood mode operation instead of disconnecting the injectors.
I don't know of anyway to pressurize these Gen3s. If you used any break in lubricant it should satisfy it anyway.

Pretty much everything I put in had some type of lube already on it. The lifters were greased, and I poured motor oil all over my cam. So hopefully that'll be enough.
Thanks for the replies guys. I'll keep these in mind when first starting my car!
