Default LS1 Alternator Question

Will this alternator work with LS1 Engines?

(Part #6160) GM Large Case Alternator

The reason I ask, is I was told that the C5 Corvette had several different
alternators from 97 to 04

i cant really tell from the information, but if by large case they mean the truck case then it should work. i dont really know about differences in alternators for vettes, but as far as i know all LS-based engines use the same bolt pattern and terminal layout, only difference is the actual size, i have a truck-case alternator on my camaro, bolts and plugs in the same way as stock but it is bigger.

If you are talking about your C5, no it won't. The alternator has to be for a C5 corvette, not a camaro, not anything but a corvette. Also, 97-00 used a Valeo 110 amp, and the 01-04 used a 140 amp. You can't interchange them. The alternator on the C5 communicates with the PCM, and if it's not the right alternator, it will thow a "Charge system Fault". Some says this won't hurt anything, and others says it could.
Also, the alternator you showed is for a V-belt. Which isn't even close to working.
