How important is it to tune after head install?
How important is it to tune after head install? I am thinking about ordering some LS6 heads and installing them myself but i was just wondering how soon do i have to get my car tuned before i drive the car? I have to make a 3 hour drive to get my car tuned and i was just wondering if i need to be worried about anything going wrong with the car untuned for the heads. I dont want to spend all that money for the heads and all the time to install them for me to damage something because the car is not tuned. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
yes and no. You will not hurt anything without tuning your car after getting heads, BUT you also could benefit MORE from the heads if you get a tune soon. Just get it tuned in the next few months and you'll be fine...
