valve seats I have a set of bare 5.3 castings and I need a set of valve seats for them.GM does not sell them and none of my vendors
have a listing for this application.The problem is they are .435 deep and i have had no luck finding this size.I would appreiciate it if anyone could fill me in on a source for these. thanks.

Re: valve seats Mark just use some at .500 depth. when you install them they will seat all the way down in the pocket with some left over in the chamber,its no big deal because when you do the valve job it will cut it down flush.
you can get a .007 interference fit if you polish the leading edge of the seat and use dry ice (put the seats on them to get them really cold) before air hammering it in. Be sure to get at least .007 larger than the hole (cut for the seat to go in, cause you dont want a seat to fall out!
