LS6 conversion package??

Anyone use this? I saw it at summitracing.com for 2400$ Am I better off Getting the TSP heads/cam package?

Any help is appreciated

Well with the LS6 conversion you will be spending $2400 for about 50rwhp. Considering a nice sized cam and the TSP heads will net you about twice that, do the math.

go with the tsp its a lil more than half the cost of the gm....and i dont see 50 out of the ls6 package maybe 35 or 40......get the tsp 5.3 heads and a ms4 and call it a day

for the money you could get some patrios withdual springs , an awesome cam of your choice andmaybe a fast 90 intake and tb but that would be close .

Yeah but the MS3 has no ***** down low. It's a great top-end cam, but that's about it. The valve events of its grind determine that, and there's no way around it.

There are a lot more options than just TSP. Don't fall into "lemming syndrome". Shop aroud and read about companies first.

That's all pretty and cute to want dyno numbers, but what about improved track times? That's what matters.

A simple $600.00 dry nitrous system will make more power with your stock heads and cam. Your car will idle and drive lots better also.

But thats all about the driver. I have seen plenty fast cars with slow drivers. If you go to the same dyno on the regular you can get an idea of how much hp you gained from different mods. Whether or not you, or I, can use that extra hp is another question.

P.S. For an example of a fast car with a slow driver my '90 Mustang GT that I had when I was 18 went 12.0 @ 130+ on street tires, yeah I know I suck at life.

You may want to consider a custom ground camshaft tailored to your goals (street manners/desired powerband/idle quality/etc.) as well as Patriot Stage II LS6 heads ($1050 bare or $1300 assembled with dual springs, etc.) or if you're on a budget look into porting stock 243 casting LS6 heads. If you have big bucks you could go with TFS, AFR or ETP. I think you would be better off having a camshaft custom ground instead of just choosing an off-the-shelf grind like most guys end up doing.

I was thinking about getting a 224/224 @ 112 LSA with the TSP heads for 5.3 stage 2.5. Most likely run some headers too while I have the heads off, it would be a grand time to swap some in. Would this be a fairly midrange cam/head setup? I want to be able to drive the car on road trips, but its not a DD, I only drive it at night and on weekends.

Thunder Racing specced and ground my custom cam. I couldn't be happier with it. Sure I'm giving up 20rwhp to a big MS4/Trex/Vindicator size cam.. but I shift at 6400-6500, not 7200

and it drives SO well around town! The spec3 clutch.. well.. that's causing me a few drivability problems.. damn thing is either ON or OFF!

I've heard good things about the RAM Powergrip HD. Perhaps you should look into it.

That's the one I wanted originally but they didn't have one in stock and it was backordered, and I needed the clutch done. I'll give it a try when the Spec3 lets go.
